I have been trying to convert all my Honeybee legacy files to the new version. During this, I am unable to run the EnergyPlus simulations, and the error says the relevant version of EnergyPlus (9.4 or higher) does not exist on the PC. However, I initially had both 9.5 and 9.4. Wondering if the two clash somehow, I uninstalled 9.5 so I still have 9.4. However, the error won’t go. What should I do?
Im having the same exact issue too, I have tried installing OpenStudio 3.2.1 with and without installing Energyplus 9.5 in the rightful directory; still same error. HB Check Version component reads Energyplus as my local time on the device, which is weird!
Yes, the two will clash. Or rather, Ladybug Tools will always try to use the EnergyPlus with the higher version number. Normally, the LBT plugin would still let you run the higher E+ version but, in this case, E+ 9.5 actually had a breaking change to the way it reports its version. This results in that weird 07:05 coming out of the component.
In any case, there are two ways that you could solve this:
Simply uninstall E+ 9.5 (and OpenStudio 3.2)
OR
Install E+ 9.4 (or OpenStudio 3.1) in the following folder: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\ladybug_tools
The LBT plugin will always search in that ladybug_tools folder for installations of simulation engines before it tries to search the default installation location. So just installing an engine in that folder will mean that the LBT plugin will use that version instead of any other versions of the engine on your machine.
