Honeybee making hole on roof for ventilation simulation

Hi Guys,

I am quite new to Honeybee and currently working on the natural ventilation simulation based on tutorials on the web.
However, since HB only allowed a closed volume, I am not quite sure how to create a single floor building where there is a hole in the roof (image attached)

I tried looking for a similar issue in the forum but could not find any. Perhaps because this is a very simple problem with a simple solution.

Do I have to put a geometry there and define a surface type for that “hole” ?

Honeybee uses EnergyPlus for energy modeling and EnergyPlus only works with closed thermal zones. Do a search and you will find more on this topic.
