Hi all, new here so hope this is the relevant section to ask, I am a Architecture student hoping to start using Ladybug and honeybee plugins with Rhino, my question is how does this run on Mac? Is a MacBook a viable option?, I am currently considering a Mac M5 Air. Thanks.
The ladybug tools themselves work great on a Mac. An M5 should work just fine, though depending on how large and complex your scene is, the actual EnergyPlus simulation may still take a fair bit of time to compute.
Rhino on Mac is mixed. Its mostly ok, but a few UI/UX items are still annoying and ‘second class’ to the windows version (IMO) but perhaps a lot of those will mostly get cleaned up in Rhino-9.
Regardless: yes, LBT works great on MacOS.
Hi.
It works, but there is no unified installer, so it’s more work to get up and running. And more avenues to research if things don’t work out of the box.
Yours,
Thankyou for the responses, reassuring that it is possible!
