Simple assignment of light material

Hello all,

I’ve successfully rendered many materials in the past, including making various function files and modifying IES angular distribution files. But, over the past week I seem to have a problem with a simple material assignment to a geometry.

Somehow, I am having a problem with the assignment of a simple “light” primitive to a surface. To illustrate the issue, I drew up a really simple rendering and grasshopper .gh containing a 5ft x 5ft surface and a testing grid. For some reason, the light does not seem to emit anything… I have tried flipping the surface but that did not solve the problem. This seems fairly basic, but I could not find the issue after a couple of hours of troubleshooting.

Would someone have the ability to help me on this?
