This semester my students (2nd years in school of architecture France, Marseille ENSAM) analyze the RENZO PIANO project (Tjibaou Cultural Center, Nouméa)
There are more than 20000 littles surfaces, it is impossible to calculate solar radiation. Is there a method to simplify the calculations on Ladybug and Honneybee?

Some 3D graphics apps have a “decimate” capability that combines multiple surface into one.
Blender an do this. So can Three.js. I have no idea if Rhino can decimate,

You can use grasshopper operations to simplefy the geometry. Extract the cruves, create a loft and cut out the excess. The solar radiatione is providing its own gridsize.
