How to model metal screen facade skin

Hello -

I wonder if anyone has modeled a metal screen skin to understand its impact on energy consumption as it ‘blocks/filters’ the sun in critical orientations.

The only option I see is to create a ‘Louver shade’, but that can only be set in one direction (horizontal/vertical), whereas a screen would have a flat look and openings in any direction.

Possibly having some sort of % of opacity or porosity would be closer to reality.

Has anyone looked into this? I am trying to show efficiencies and compare skin versus other facade treatments.
