Your approach is generally in line with how the E+ reference suggests simulating Trombe walls:

If you want a finer level of control over the interzone air flow, I recommend using air walls and a CSV schedule to drive when you want the openings in between the two zones open:
You can use the results of the previous simulation to build a csv schedule that only opens the inter-zone flow at times when heating is desired (or something to a similar effect).
i would not use wind driven cross ventilation since you don’t seem to have windows on either side of the apartment.
