I’m researching the effects of different building block placement options. I need to calculate the energy consumption of every blocks and strive to reduce the complex’s overall energy usage. We might describe context as HB Shading when studying the impact of context on a thermal zone, but now all blocks are thermal zones. I tried changing options once, but nothing seems to happen when the pattern changes. I’m just curious as to how I can model this project. Is energy plus and honeybee considering the interaction between them, such as envelop radiation and shading, when I classify all blocks as thermal zones?
Have you tried using the Dragonfly plugin?
It has a connection to the URBANopt SDK that’s specifically for building district-scale energy models for EnergyPlus/OpenStudio.
