Hello everyone,
I am an undergraduate student from South Korea conducting my graduation research using Honeybee and Ladybug Tools. I would really appreciate any advice.
I am simulating a single office space inside an office building. The model represents only one office room, not the entire building.
My model setup is as follows:
- Honeybee / Ladybug Tools 1.10
- EnergyPlus annual simulation
- Seoul EPW weather file
- South façade: curtain wall (window)
- North, east, west walls, roof, and floor are all set to Adiabatic because I assume there is no heat transfer to adjacent spaces.
- Ideal Air Loads HVAC
- Office Program with modified schedules
- Cooling and heating schedules are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays.
- Annual Loads is used to calculate the cooling and heating loads.
However, the annual cooling and heating loads are much higher than I expected.
I have already checked or modified the following:
- Construction Set
- Window properties (SHGC, U-value)
- Internal loads (People, Lighting, Equipment)
- Cooling and heating setpoints
- Ventilation and infiltration
- Natural ventilation settings
- Adiabatic boundary conditions
Despite these changes, the cooling load remains much higher than expected.
Since this is only a single office room, I expected the annual cooling and heating loads to be much lower.
Could anyone help me identify what I might be doing wrong, or suggest what else I should check?
