Hi to all,
I’m currently testing various solar protection strategies as part of a comfort analysis, focusing on PMV values with adjusted MRT*. For this exercise, I’m comparing the same window setup with different shading elements:
- An exterior aluminum film with mirror-like properties
- A dynamic louver system
- Microperforated mesh panels
I’ve managed to simulate the louver system and mesh panels reasonably well. However, the aluminum film is proving more challenging due to the lack of complete assembly data. I only have separate specifications for the film and the glazing, and I need to combine them to estimate a realistic g-value for the full assembly and comfort simulation.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation or have suggestions on how to approach this?
PS: I’ve tried using third-party tools like LBNL Window and Optics, but they don’t include spectral data for these specific elements, and the available equivalents differ significantly.
Thanks
