Balance Temperature Calculator - How to use? What does it mean?

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to know a bit more about the Balance Temperature Calculator component. How does it work and what do the outputs actually mean?

I’ve been trying to find like a ‘target temperature’ component within Honeybee, where you plugin a temperature you want your building to be at, and the energy load is calculated off that.

Essentially it tells you about the outdoor temperature [One number] during which the thermal balance values are nearing 0. Which means the building is neither heating or cooling. This outdoor temperature is the balance temperature. You can also visualize this using ladybug. This will not be exactly similar to Honeybee. But it’s close enough to give an idea.

This would be setpoints. You can do this in Honeybee_Set Energyplus Zone Threshold component
