Best way to make an energy model of an apartment within a building?

Hi there,

I am doing and energy model with honeybee of an apartment in a residential tower. There are 4 apartments per floor plan but I am only modelling one. I am assigning the exterior walls of my apartment that face other apartments as adiabatic. However, I am getting some very hot areas inside in the rooms that don’t have any outdoor facing walls. They seem to heat up very quickly and not dissipate this heat because of the adiabatic walls.

What would be the best way to model this scenario?

  1. Adiabatic Exterior-Non Outdoor walls.
  2. Model the rest of the floor as one or two big zones (Corridor and apartments) and use the midrise apartment program from EP.
