Working on a high-level conceptual systems analysis for a project in the early phase of design. Very few design conditions (room program, lighting density, building envelope performance) are tacked down as of now, and so we’ve decided to evaluate these options parametrically.
That being said, I am running into some difficulty with understanding how best to assign HVAC systems with a blended program type. We have different system types for lab and office spaces (our two main building programs) that we are looking to evaluate, with only simple ratios to determine what percentage of lab and office space are assigned to the building. Is it possible to blend system types the same way it is possible to blend room programs, possibly even along those same ratios?
