Butterfly (0.0.05) Installation

Hello,

I have installed the latest version of Rhino 8 and the compatible version of Ladybug tools (1.8). As I am working now on CFD studies, I needed to install Butterfly plugin, however the latest version of Butterfly (0.0.05) seems already outdated for the current Ladybug tools version, as it shows (old) when I use the components.

I need to know if there is a newer version of Butterfly or there is no way to use this plugin with latest version of Rhino and Ladybug.

@Abeer it looks like the newest butterfly is v0.0.2 This version of Butterfly uses blueCFD-Core 2017-2

BlueCFD version can be downloaded here

Butterfly is apart of the legacy toolset, you likely wont be able to use the new 1.XX LBT components with it

Thank you very much @TrevorFedyna. Does that mean if I need to test CFD simulations on a honeybee modeI need to install the older version ?

@Abeer I believe that to be the case but I’m not a butterfly user myself so I cant say for certain

Hi there, I am having the same issue that I can’t seem to fix.
Even when installing butterfly there is a label on the node saying ‘old’.
When I look at V 0.0.2 it shows that it’s a BUG fix and I can’t find install for this version:
‘Bug Fixes
docs: fix import on linux machine (c8fc0bb)’
I also tried installing gypython2 as it was recommended in one of the other forums, but still the same issue.
Does anyone know how to solve this, or where can the latest version be downloaded?
Thanks,
Bea
