I have a question regarding daylight simulation in Honeybee. I’m simulating a simple room with a south-facing window and have placed a reflective surface outside to redirect sunlight onto the ceiling. Both the ceiling and the reflector are highly reflective (with reflectance values between 0.85 and 0.90).
In the results, I can clearly see the increase in lux on the ceiling due to the external reflector when comparing cases with and without it. However, I don’t observe any noticeable difference in illuminance on the floor, even though the ceiling is receiving more light.
I’m wondering—where is this additional reflected light going? Is Honeybee in Grasshopper capable of accurately calculating secondary reflections from interior surfaces, such as from ceiling to floor? I’d appreciate your help, and I’d be happy to share the model if needed.
Thanks in advance!
