Default HVAC system when non specify

Hello everyone,

I have a question concerning the HVAC system that is assigned by default to a model when the model is “conditioned” but no HVAC is specified.
I saw in an online video that when no HVAC is specified and the room is conditioned, the “Ideal Air” system applies with the default settings of this component. However, I don’t know how to confirm this information.

Thank you very much and have a nice day,

Rachel

This is correct. The default system is the “Ideal Air”, which basically tells you about the consumption loads.

This is a great question about default HVAC systems in building modeling software. It’s definitely worth confirming the specifics for your particular program.

While you mentioned “Ideal Air” as the default system in an online video, it’s important to remember that different software might use different default HVAC options for conditioned spaces without a specified system.

Most building modeling software comes with extensive documentation, either online or as a physical manual. Search for keywords like “default HVAC,” “conditioned space settings,” or “HVAC lead” (referring to the initial system chosen in the absence of a user selection).
Many programs allow you to investigate default settings within the user interface. Look for options related to conditioned spaces or default HVAC systems.
