Desiccant Dehumidifiers

Hi @MingboPeng
I have used Ironbug to build radiant heating and cooling systems.
I hope you will also add a desiccant system for dehumidification.
Are there any (future) plans to add a desiccant model in Ironbug?

Hi @Khan,

I just checked the OpenStudio SDK, the “Desiccant Dehumidifier” is still not supported in the OpenStudio.

I would suggest posting an issue for the OpenStudio team: NREL/OpenStudio: (github.com).

Just some ideas for you to try:

  • Edit IDF file directly
  • Write a measure to create a desiccant dehumidifier for OpenStudio
  • Use EnergyPlus’s Python API

Hi @Khan, I have been trying to also model a file with “Desiccant Dehumidifier” with no luck and I was wondering if you have any success.
