Differences in HB annual irradiance simulation results

Hi,
I have question about HB annual irradiance.

Why is it that when I run this simulation several times under the same conditions, the values are slightly different each time?

The same is true for smaller grids.

It would be helpful if you could tell us!

Hi @nano, Radiance, the software engine behind HB Radiance uses a Monte Carlo simulation method which introduces a random element making no two simulations give exactly the same result. You can improve the Radiance parameters to reduce the difference between each simulation result and give a more accurate result.

Hi@charlie.brooker,
Thanks for the reply!

Do you know the specific method of improve the Radiance parameters?
Is it by reducing the grid size, etc.?

Hi @nano,

The detail level input is a simple way to improve them, with low, medium and high options

That link points to other links that help explain Radiance parameters. The Radiance discourse forum is also a place to look.

Hi@charlie.brooker,
Thanks for letting me know!

I’ll give it a try.
Thank you so much!
