Discrepancy Between Results from HB Read Room Energy Result and EnergyPlus IDF Simulation

Hi everyone,

I’m working on an energy simulation using Honeybee in Rhino. Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. Created geometry in Rhino and developed an HB Model.
  2. Used the HB Model to OSM component to run the simulation.
  3. Connected the simulation results to the HB Read Room Energy Result component to analyze the outputs.

However, when I compare the results from the HB Read Room Energy Result component with those generated directly from the IDF file after running an EnergyPlus simulation, the outputs are different.

I’m trying to understand what might be causing this discrepancy. Could it be related to:

  • Differences in the way the Honeybee components process results vs. EnergyPlus?
  • Any settings or assumptions within the HB Model to OSM workflow?
  • Specific limitations or nuances in data translation between Honeybee and EnergyPlus?

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or have insights into what might be happening?

Hi @MinhoKang, I did a quick comparison and found the discrepancies were quite negligible due to the roundup. Is that what you looking for?
