Dragonfly legacy envimet components

Hi all,

I want to use my rhino geometry to create an ENVI-MET model. I have Rhino 6 and ladybug (legacy) properly installed and I have ENVI-MET 4.4.4 installed. I’ve downloaded the entire github repository to C:\Users%USERNAME%\Appdata\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\scripts. If I try to run the DF installer component I am getting a windows error (Win32Exception).

Underneath it says
line 185, …
line 73. …
line 128, …

It seems that it removed the uwg folder?

Anyone with advice?

Thanks in advance

Hi @mk-1,

I think your error is with Dragonfly[+] because “DF installer” is part of it.

Instead Envimet components are part of Dragonfly Legacy. You can:

There is also a beta version of envimet components for Dragonfly Legacy that contains some new components to read envimet results:

Hi @AntonelloDiNunzio,

If I download Dragonfly from https://github.com/chriswmackey/Dragonfly and run the installer.gh I get exactly the same… (it says I need to download the installation packet from food4rhino).

I’ve also tried downloading the beta version from here: https://github.com/AntonelloDN/df_envimet/tree/master/plugin%20beta

I get an error when I try to unblock the ZIP file and I end up getting only some of the components if I continue. So I am getting closer

Thanks in advance!

Hi @mk-1,

Could you try a manual installation:

  • copy and paste “uwg” folder here: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\McNeel\Rhinoceros\6.0\scripts\
  • drag and drop all components of “userObjects” into grasshopper canvas
  • copy and paste “envimet” folder into C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries

Can you add a screenshot of the error?

Maybe it is better to address this issue in a new discussion.

Thanks,
Antonello
