End use intensity

Hi there,

I’m trying to calculate the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) of a neighborhood and I obtained the following categories in my output:

  • Heating
  • Cooling
  • Interior Lighting
  • Electric Equipment
  • Gas Equipment
  • Fans
  • Pumps
  • Water Systems

I have a question regarding the categorization of equipment: Do the ‘Electric Equipment’ and ‘Gas Equipment’ categories include all equipment, such as those used for heating, cooling, and water heating? Similarly, for the ‘Fans’ and ‘Pumps’ categories.

Fan and pumps are the componts of HVAC system.

Thank you for your reply. But if the fan and pumps are components of the HVAC system, why their EUIs are not included with heating and cooling. On the other hand, an HVAC system can also be considered electrical equipment.
