Energy and daylight simulation error after updating Rhino 6.12 to 6.31

Hello, dear forum. I have updated my rhino 6.12 to 6.31 (for using wallacei). Now my last energy and daylight simulations which ran properly before don’t run correctly. I did not reinstall any plugins and the old ones are working. (errors like:

  1. The simulation has not run correctly because of this severe error:
** Severe ** GetHTSubSurfaceData: Surface Openings have too much area for base surface=OFFICEROOM_0_SRF_0
  2. The simulation has failed because of this fatal error:
** Fatal ** GetSurfaceData: Errors discovered, program terminates.)

Could there be a problem with the incompatibility of the versions of plugins or software related to HoneyBee after installing the new Rhino?

Hi -

It’s rather peculiar that you’d install 6.31 at this point - I’m not sure where you would even get that from. Any reason not to use the latest 6.35?

There was no specific reason.
Is there any problem with my WWR definition? because I think some of the problems in running wallacei are about the WWR part in my algorithm.
a lot of problems happened to me at the same time.

Hi -

I’ve never used Wallacei so I wouldn’t know. I’m sure that if you isolate the relevant parts of the definition so that no other plug-ins are required, you could post a question in the Wallacei category and ask for help.

It doesn’t make much sense to me to try and troubleshoot issues with old versions unless there are very specific reasons for doing so.

I would be Thankful if, in the algorithm, you checked the window to wall ratio(WWR).
In any case, thank you for your answer.

Hi -

You haven’t attached anything…

sorry
and as you said I will update Rhino to the last version but I think it is the problem with HoneyBee

Hi Sima -

I didn’t get to a Windows machine before now and took a look at your definition.

I think I managed to replace the Pufferfish component with standard components in that WWR group - at least something comes out of the Honeybee_addHBGlz component:

But it doesn’t look that that makes the Honeybee_EnergyPlus Window Shade Generator very happy:

I’m afraid that’s not something I can help you with.

Anyway, thank you for your response.

Hello. You can write the algorithm from the beginning when you update.

Does it really help?

Once I tried it for myself and it answered. I hope it answers for you too. Or an extra space will cause an error.

thank you, Hoda for your recommendation.
