When doing an energyplus simulation with facade as PV panels, I noticed that if I include one facade into PV-shadings, the EnergyPlus simulation breaks by keep saying:
Log Error: exec fail(pvwattsv5_1ts): failed to calculate plane of array irradiance with given input parameters time -1
After several trials, I found that this error is directly related to this surface and is irrelevant to my GH file. I tried using the photovoltaic.gh file (samples/honeybee-energy) provided along with ladybug installers, and the error can be reproduced.
Load the surface into grasshopper and replace the ground PV samples with this surface:
Then run the ModelToOSM script, many of the same error messages will appear:
However, if I move this surface slightly:
Then the simulation will be fine again. It seems that the combination of this geometry and this location caused the problem, and I wonder if this can be avoided in some way.
