Hi,
I am running a honeybee model to compare HVAC systems using the honeybee HVAC templates (not ironbug systems). When I compare the “VAV air cooled chiller with gas boiler reheat” to the “Ground Source Heat Pumps (Geothermal)” I notice the cooling energy use of the ground source heat pump system is twice as large as the VAV system. Plotting the monthly energy use, it appears the ground source heat pump system is cooling all year round even in the middle of winter in climate zone 7. Does anyone knows why this is happening?
