Grouping Ladybug HB Apertures for multiple WUFI components in export

I was wondering if anyone has been able to create an export into WUFI where Apertures were grouped together?

I want to group together windows of the same type (ie. operable/non-operable windows, number of shared mullions, storefront/regular, size) and have them as grouped components in my WUFI export to make it easier to adjust later. Otherwise, I would have to manually ungroup all the windows and assign them individually or select each one and group them together in WUFI.

Hi @sonia.lyakh

If you set the _group_components option to ‘True’ on the WUFI output settings, it will group the components based on the Honeybee-Construction assigned to the apertures:

Is that what you meant?

Hey,

I think this is getting close, but I am importing the apertures currently from Rhino like this:

I basically just want to have these apertures as their own WUFI component. I also separated out the following window types by layer in case it would be helpful, but any way to separate these would work

right, good.

So just give them the same Honeybee-Energy construction and set _group_components to True and they will come into WUFI as a single component with multiple sub-faces.
