Hi Everybody,
I tried to construct a very simple energy model for my exercise, unfortunately I did not succeed E+ simulation with honeybee. When I ran the simulation it said:
“1. The simulation has not run correctly because of this severe error:
** Severe ** DetermineShadowingCombinations: There are 2 surfaces which are casting surfaces and are non-convex.
”
I don’t really understand what it tried to tell me. I am assuming that there is something wrong with my honeybee model. Could anyone help me please!
Please find an attachment of my Grasshopper file.

Hi Atta,
The simulation works fine on my machine, I do get the same error an explanation of the error can be seen here: https://unmethours.com/question/4372/severe-error-with-non-convex-s…
This is not really a severe error but by making all your surfaces convex it may change the results. I couldn’t see any non-convex surfaces in your model, but if you can find them and convert them to convex surfaces the error will go away.
Hi Anton,
Thanks for the suggestion link, it really helpful. however, I still can’t get rid of warning the non-convex surface from E+ Run Energy Simulation. Yes now I can still read simulation result, yet warning seem disturbing me.
As I continue my exercise to daylighting simulation it gave me error as follow:
As I continue further for Indoor View Factor Calculator it gave me Null result and warning as follow:
Do you have any further suggestion how I could solve the problems? Also please find an attachment of my update energy model.

Atta,
For the daylighting you were not flattening your _testGeometry inputs which means that you had daylighting grids overlapping each other, it is working for me now.
As for the view factor try following the instructions given on the view factor component and let me know if you need any more help.

Hi Anton,
Thank you so much for your help. It is now working.
