Hi,
I’m wondering what the “right” workflow for the following would be.
I need to get hourly irradiation values for external envelopes for a bunch of buildings, for post-processing, like this:
Checking just the yearly values i used the
LBT IncidentRadiation component, which calculates the above case in a couple of minutes, but is not giving hourl values. The same with the
HB_CumulativeRadiation. The option left is the HB_AnnualIrradiance. So far, so good. The AnnualIrradiance with just one building takes about a couple of minutes to finish. The issue/problem is when i try to simulate all the buildings together. The trials i did took many hours, that at the end i killed the job since i didn’t see any progress or light at the end of the tunnel. Also the size of the result files, just before i killed the job, was about 30 GB.
I ended simulating each building individually (via colibri) and then baking the results to get an image like the above and, of course, the hourly irradiance values. The analysis took a couple of minutes per building, something like 40-50 minutes for the above case (Instead of hours).
My question is if this is the workflow to follow, or if there is another (better or recommended) option that i can’t think about so far.
I see in the github that there is something going on with Dragonfly regarding Radiance use that may be the way to go, but cant tell since this is a work in progress.
Will appreciate your recommendations.
Thanks,
-A.
