Hourly shaded area ratio of surfaces

For a project I’m working on, I have 10 roofs where I plan to install PV panels. However, my professor has asked me to calculate the ratio of shadowed areas to the total area of the each PV panels. I know I can use the Sunpath Shading component to get the annual shading ratio, but I’m looking for a way to calculate this ratio for each hour. How can I achieve that?

You can use Honeybee-radiance annual irradiation

hello, thank you for your reply. Because my proffessor use the ladybug legacy, I am not familiar with 1.8.0 version. How can I use this to calculate shadow casted area ratio of a surface for each hour of the year ? If this can work, I can rewrite the code but I do not know how can I use this component. Sorry for asking too much. Thank you again!

Please update to Ladybug 1.8.0 version. There are many sample file for new beginner. You can run annual Radiance and filter some region the annual radiance data which below some constant value.
