Hello all! I wanted to set up an analysis test for the heliostat design to check if it does enhance the daylighting condition of the test room. I can only find a function called ‘bound from the surface’ in ver 0068, but it is just a showcase of light, which can’t provide me with some calculation function. I want to redirect sunlight with a dynamic component and then analyze the redirected sunlight. How can I realize this idea? and here is my GH file.
The only way to get illuminance values for a dynamic object that changes geometry at every time step is to run a separate illuminance calculation for each of those geometries/timesteps.
I recommend setting up a Honeybee model with a slider that controls the tracking of the heliostat (so that you can scroll through a day of tracking). Then, you can use the Point-in-Time Grid-Based recipe to get illuminance values for that honeybee model. Animating through your tracking slider will allow you to get the illuminance at each hour. Then, you can compare those illuminance values to those that you get with a simulation without the heliostats.
Thank you Chris! After several tries on annual simulation I realized that I cant get cumulative radiance of this Heliostat system. Again, thank you!
