I imported my buildings from GIS; Real Time Radiation Analysis Doesn't Work; Coordinate problem

Hi Everybody,

I imported some buildings from an urban landscape from GIS to Rhino.

The buildings are located in their real locations (x,y). I need to use the real time radiation analysis tool. I set the breps but the tool does not work. However, when I move those buildings to the 0,0 coordinate, the tool works. How can I fix this?

P.S. the building layer is attached.

thanks,

Mehdi

Hi Mehdi,
This is weird if this doesn’t work at your end.

I tried your file, as is, and it works fine. Maybe the problem is with the grid size. You have a large ground. I tested with 10 m grid.

Thanks Abraham,

You are right. I changed the grid size to 10 and it works well now. I really appreciate your help.

Best,

Mehdi

Hi Mehdi,

I remember this problem happening to me a while a go but I did not have time to look into it or post on it. I also had some complicated site geometry and the grid size was also small. Now that I have seen this happen in two cases, it definitely smells like a bug to me.

Could you post the GH file with the exact grid size and specifications that are causing this to fail?

As Mostapha wrote the radiation components, I feel that we should let him take a look at it first and, if he ends up being too busy after the next few days, I will look into fixing it.

Hi Chris,

I uploaded the GH file. I used 1 as the grid size and it did not work but 10 works pretty well.
