Hi Maryam, I’m not sure what is exactly your question here but in general you need to create the surfaces using createHBSrf, add window to the tilted surfce (addGlazing) and then put them together as a zone (createHBZone).

Is it always necessary to make zones? Won’t you be able to get the same result by assigning material properties to the surfaces with createHBsrf and and connecting that directly to the HBObjects input of the runDaylightAnalysis component?

Yes! You are right in case Maryam is asking for Daylighting simulation. For some reason I thought she is looking for energy simulation, but now that I checked again it may or may not be the case. Thanks for bringing this up.
