Inconsistent Sun Radiation Results for Roof Despite Using Flip/Flip Curve

Hi everyone,

I’m calculating sun radiation by preparing the roof and facade components separately and then merging them. Despite using the Flip and Flip Curve components, I am still getting inconsistent results under certain conditions, similar to what you can see in the attached image. Some areas show unexpected values, and I’m unsure why this is happening.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Any suggestions on how to resolve it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I suggest flattening the results and joining the meshes before showing the heatmap.
From the image i see there are 2 legends in place. My guess is the roof has almost the same values so they look similar. So the blue in the roof has the same value as the red [or higher] of the facade.

Dear @AbrahamYezioro
Thanks for your reply.
I handle the roof and facade colour difference but I have still trouble about that despite using the Flip and Flip Curve components, I am still getting inconsistent results under certain conditions, similar to what you can see in the attached image. Some areas show unexpected values, and I’m unsure why this is happening.

See my previous reply.
In addition, you are using Legacy. I suggest moving to the LBT on your workflow.

Dear @AbrahamYezioro
Thanks for your reply.
I have just tried what you said. I did flattening but result did not change. What’s more, I did only for roof and results are very low that means the blue in the roof has not the same value as the red of the facade.

Hi @Fikret. Have you flipped the surface direction upward?

Hi @Asisnath
Thanks for your reply. I did but if I do 1 flip, it works in some variables. if I do 2 flip, it works in different some variables. This is the main problem

Try increasing the offset_distance. If I remember ok your offset is very small. Set as something like 0.1.

Hi @AbrahamYezioro
Thanks for your reply and patience
Although problem still lasts. Just to be sure, can you explain where should be flattened, clearly? I am afraid of doing the wrong thing flattened.
Best regards

@AbrahamYezioro
When I extruded the roof, it looks alright. Do you think if it effects the results?

Since you are using the LB Legacy you should check the results output. But again, I suggest moving to LBT. Should not be much of an effort. I’m not able now to debug such old versions.

Not sure … can’t give a proper answer here. Using just a surface should work.

@AbrahamYezioro
Extrude gives wrong results.
I don’t know what is legacy or LBT. I download it food4rhino. It was the newest. Where can I download LBT?

Hi @mostapha
Do you have any suggestion for me?

@Fikret use this installer for LBT

Hi @TrevorFedyna
Thanks for reply however I cannot set up it cause I am using university computer so I cannot set up anything. I can just copy and paste for plugins.
Best regards.

Hi Fikret!
Long time no see :slight_smile:

Try to flatten your geometry here:
