Iron bug errors

Hi! I’m trying to simulate an HVAC system and I struggle with fixing the errors. I based that script on a file shared by @MingboPeng and I’m trying to understand what are the elements that I have to fix. I’m getting this message: 1. Solution exception: ** Fatal ** Errors found in processing Energy Management System input. Preceding condition causes termination.

I’m a new user so I can’t upload the file, but I’m sending it as a wetransfer. I simplified my original energy model to make it less heavy, so connecting any geometry from Rhino should work. Unique Download Link | WeTransfer

It’s part of my master thesis and I’m running out of time, so I will be very grateful for any tips!

Hey @MGawel,

Could you please provide more information about what you are trying to do? A few screenshots would be helpful for us to better understand the issue.

Thanks,
Mingbo

Thank you for a quick response! I’m trying to simulate air to water heat pump and since I don’t have any experience with Iron bug I struggled a lot with finding tutorials how to simulate it. This script that I found on a forum looked suitable for my needs, but I also don’t have knowledge about EMS, so I don’t manage to find the issues. It looks very complicated to me and maybe there is a better way of simulating it?

You just started your 101 project with one of the hardest system. I would suggest you start testing a few simpler HVAC systems with your models, such as VAV Reheat, to get yourself more familiar with the basic workflow with Ironbug.

In terms of the system you are trying to model, there is a simpler template you can use for the ASHP.

Do you know how can I download those templates? I have tried starting with those at the beginning but I didn’t manage to open them.

The message says: 1. Solution exception: The path has an invalid format.

Ok, do you use the Pollination’s one-click installer?

Yes, I did use it, but maybe something didn’t install well since I’m getting this message always while opening GH. I tried to fix it but all the installation files looked fine, so I just left it.

and than I get this one:

Yes, but you also used another way to install it, which is causing your conflict issue. You just need to go to find this location and delete the plugin. You can aslo search the forum how to do it if you don’t know how.

That worked, thank you so much!
