Is Solar Absorption the opposite of Albedo?

Hi guys,

I am trying to calculate the difference of paving materials under solar radiation.
Do I understand correctly that Solar Absorption is the opposite from Albedo?
Since albedo is reflectivity, thereby the solar absorption is the opposite?

Really sorry for a silly question.

Yes, for opaque materials.

Albedo = 1 - Absorption

For transparent materials, you also have a portion of the light that’s transmitted so, for glass materials:

Albedo = 1 - Absorption - Transmittance
