Hi folks,
I’m planning on using ladybug to make a sunpath for my regenerating forest plots. I am interested in how the tree species composition and growth within regenerating plots is influenced by direct sunlight hours per year. Each plot varies in how much direct sunlight it recieves because of taller trees from the surrounding forest act as an obstruction. I have the field measurements of these tall trees and know their height, width etc.
Does anyone know how I can naviagate the issue of deciduous trees vs conifers? If deciduous trees lose their leaves for half the year, they also allow through more light for half a year. What is a smart way to approach this?
Cheers!
