Hi to all,
I have been investigating this topic for a while already without a clear conclusion.
It’s my understanding that there are three posible thermal comfort assessment methods that could be suitable for a semi open space such as a railway station or an airport (arrival area):
SET, PET and ITCI
For this case in particular I am assessing the feasibility of leaving a space open opposed to enclose it and climatize it in a tropical climate.
Which of this thermal comfort approaches would be more suitable for my purpose? And why?
Is there any recommendations regarding the % of hours per year this is unacceptable? As per now I am sticking with the 3% of occupied hours limit used in indoor thermal comfort models to determine wether this spaces will serve better it’s purpose as an enclosed space with mechanical cooling and ventilation.
Any insight or recomendation related to this topic or previous experiences are greatly appreciated.
