Outdoor air volume flow rate too low in the morning

I’m trying to model a VAV-system for an office building, but I keep on getting outdoor air volume flow rates in the morning that are too low. I’ve set the flow per person to 0.007 m3/s (7 L/s) in my program, but between the 7am-8am, when the first occupants arrive the volume flow rate is below 0.007 m3/s per person. As seen on graph below:

When the simulations are done for the full floor, then it’s for even longer periods below 0.007 m3/s per person:

Is it overruled by some thermal requirements? Or what could be the reason?
@MingboPeng maybe you can help?

Hi @WilliamEskildsen if set the output report frequency to “TimeStep” which is 6/hour by default, you could see the more detailed data per 10 mins.
It seems during the winter season, the system doesn’t turn on until 8 am. This is a direction that you would look into more your settings. It mostly related to the weather conditions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer @MingboPeng, makes sense.
I guess I should have set up a more strict control system and some actual minimum and maximum flow rates for each room.

I sadly had to move over to IES VE as I didn’t fell like I had the full control over the system with Ironbug.

Ironbug seems like a very nice tool, but it’s hard to jump straight into as you don’t really know what to unfold in the beginning.
