Placement of sensor grid

Hi guys

I was just wondering how the LB Generate Point Grid component chooses where to start the grid.

The example below is from a daylight simulation of a south facing room, where the blue shape is the sensor plane. As you see, the grid is placed furthest away from the windows - in other words, the simulation includes less of the daylit space, which is negative for the sDA.

Is there a way to control this? Tried to look through the forum, but didn’t find a similar question.

In ClimateStudio it is possible to control this through target and minimum insets.

Hi @MarkLabrosse ,

Have you tried the HB Sensor Grid from Rooms component in the latest development version of the LBT plugin?

You’ll see that there’s a new wall_offset_ option, which will remove sensors within a given distance of the walls of the Room walls. I’m not sure if this is exactly what is meant by “target inset” but I know that we added this because certain daylight codes require that the sensor be a certain distance away from any walls.
