I’m running into a recurring issue with Ladybug/Honeybee in Grasshopper.
When I open my Grasshopper file, all LB/HB components show up marked as “OLD” as if they were the legacy tools. After a few seconds, the components already in place lose this tag, but any new components I insert into the canvas keep the “OLD” label.
I tried using the LB Legacy Updater and, suddenly, all components stopped showing the “OLD” tag. However, after reinstalling LB Tools for an unrelated issue, the label started appearing again in all new components.
I checked as weel the following dicussion on the forum: All components display as "Old". However, I believe the issue might not be the same. I´m left wondering:
Has something gone wrong with my installation, or is this just a visual bug?
Does running the Legacy Updater actually fix the problem, or is there something else I should do to prevent it?
Thanks for any guidance!
P.S.
I also noticed that all the new commponents seem to have lost the “1.9.0” labell that the original components displayed:
I believe my problem might be something deeper. Running: the “HB Check Versions ()” and the “HB_Config ()” components I get null results in all panels. At this point I assume I have to re-install everything again.
Is there any chance that you locked the solver of your Grasshopper file (such that there is a red border around it)?
What you are describing here is consistent with a description of the components not running because of something you have done with your Grasshopper settings. I think you will find that it relates to all of your Grasshopper components regardless of whether they are Ladybug Tools components or not.
At the time, I hadn’t locked the solver (I didn’t have the padlock icon on the left or the red border), as there were no calculations running that I needed to keep.
Regarding the “OLD” label issue, it seems to be resolved. I did a clean reinstallation of Ladybug Tools, and now the components are showing up correctly. For now, everything seems to be working normally.
So, maybe the problem was just some kind of installation error?
Thanks again for all your help!
I did some more testing with the lock feature on Ladybug Tools components. I confirmed that when I lock the canvas, any component I insert from LB, HB, or HB Radiance gets labeled as “OLD”. However, when I insert a basic Grasshopper component, it doesn’t have the same label. As soon as I unlock the canvas, the LB and related components lose the “OLD” tag and revert to their normal 1.9.0 version label.
