Problem in loading radiation results without re-running the simulation

Hello,
I am facing an issue in understanding how to load back cumulative radiation results produced with the “HB cumulative radiation” component, or any other sort of HB Radiance component. I thought, in this case, that the “HB Annual Cumulative Values” was the right one, but it is not working. The _results input requires a path to the folder where the .ill and sun-up-hours.txt files are located, but in the results folder I have there are no such files (see picture below) . This is very strange to me, especially because I remember that in the Legacy of LBT it was very straight-forward to retrieve pre-calculated data.

Can someone please help me with that and show me the workflow to load back results without re-running the simulation every time?

Thanks in advance for that,
Best
Matteo

Check if you are usin HB_RecipeSettings component for your simulation. If you do be sure the reload_old_ input is set to true. If you don’t the default is to make the simulation… This will affect other calculations performed downstream [as in your case], since all previous results will be deleted.

Hi @Matteo,

You can use “HB Annual Cumulative Values” with “HB Annual Irradiance”, but not “HB Cumulative Radiation”. If I remember correctly you will get the radiation in Wh/m2 so you have to divide by 1000 to convert to kWh/m2, which is the unit in “HB Cumulative Radiation”.

If you want to use “HB Cumulative Radiation” you have to use the workflow that @AbrahamYezioro mentioned.
