Radiance Color Appearance

Hi everyone!

I’m working on a Radiance Simulation following some tutorials. I managed to get the simulation running, but I noticed that the colors on the geometry don’t match the color scale properly. Instead of a smooth gradient, the result appears patchy or stained, making it difficult to interpret the data correctly.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

-Adjusted the grid size, but the issue persists (it only changes the pattern of the stains).
-Verified my input parameters, but I’m not sure if I’m missing something.

Attached is a screenshot of my setup. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue? Could it be related to the analysis mesh resolution or another parameter?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi.

Your drawn geometry is in conflict with the visualization of radiance values.

Either turn of the geometry, bake the visualization to a separate layer on turn of the others, or try increasing the offset.(but unsure if the last one works though).

Hi,
Thanks for your response! I tried both options:

  • I turned off the geometry and baked it into a new layer. (Also, in the image was already hidden the geometry)
  • I increased the _offset_dist, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect.
Let me know if you have any other suggestions!

Hi @Sarahi can you upload your file for troubleshooting?
Though I think if you just ‘preview off’ this geometry component It may solve the problem.
