Radiant custom face

Hi!
I would like to model a room with custom surfaces that provide the heating.
I found the video below, but it’s for version 1.2 and I couldn’t find a way to make it work, unfortunately. My goal is to simulate a flat where only the “core” is heated and I’d like to see the surface temperatures in the rooms, where there is no heating provided.
