Run IDF error Solution exception:'NoneType' object has no attribute 'file_contents'

Hi there,

I am trying to run a single IDF file throught the ‘run IDF’ component and getting this error. is there another way i should be feeding the file path in to the component?

the IDF was created and saved in the energyplus IDF editor

Hey @Nicholaskerr ,

It would appear in the screenshot that you plugged in the path to an IDF file that does not exist at that location. But the error in this screenshot is not the exception message that you put in the title of your post.

If the problem is not the IDF file path, then upload the IDF and I’ll see if I can recreate the error.

Thanks for your reply Chris,

I was running it from a different directory so there may have been an error in the path address. I have since been saving it as the in.idf in the run folder and it has been working from there.
