I am running a daylight simulation for Greenstar buildings compliance - specifically glare.
To show compliance a 1.5m strip of floor around the perimeter of the floor must be shaded for 80% of nominated hrs at the equinox and winter/summer solstice.
The HB direct sun hours component gets me 90% of the way there. However, there is no way I can find to assign an analysis period to this simulation other than a point in time which doesn’t help in this situation either.
You can take the hoys from LB Analysis Period and plug them into HB Wea From EPW, or perhaps better – if you want to avoid re-running the recipe when changing the hoys – you can plug them into HB Annual Cumulative Values and just run the recipe component for the entire year. Since the results in the direct sun hours recipe are ones and zeros the cumulative value will be equal to the number of direct sun hours. You can also create multiple analysis periods and add all the hoys from the different periods to the same cumulative values component.
