Simulating perforated screen as shade for daylight analysis

Hi,
I am looking to add perforated metal screens infront of a glazing facade.
The perforation area approximates to 50% of the total screen area.
Would this be a way to achieve light transmittance through a solid surface that simulates a perforated screen?
