Temperature on a surface (outdoor)

Hello,
i wonder if it could be possible calculate the surface temperature on a mesh surface placed on the outdoor. I would like to see if the surface temperature can be lower of the dew temperature.
Is it possible to achieve this usign Ladybug?

Thank you

Hi @andyvig,

The easiest way to mimik this is to create a simple room model with a well insulatated construction.

Thank you Erikbeeren,
unfortunately i think i missed some information about the task’s context.

I am trying to calculate a PVC cloth temperature, placed on the outside during the year.

If i calculate the temperature i hope i manage to calculate the hypotetical production of dew on the surface itself.

I wonder if this is possible

Thank you
Sorry for rhe misunderstanding

Hi @andyvig

For getting an estimate of the surface temperatures, the model could be good enough.

Here you can find information on how the temperature is calculated.

When the conduction into the wall is set to almost zero (by insulating the inward construction, the temperature of the surface will be mainly effected by shortwave radiation, longwave radiation, convective exchange with outside air and the heat capacity of the material.

For getting an estimate of the amount about the amount of dew generated, there are more factors which you have to take into account. This will be far more complex. You will probably need other software or calculation tools.

Thank you very much @Erikbeeren!
I’ll take a look at the file and model, and let you know.
Have a nice day.
