THERM and Honeybee Environment

Hi,

I’ve started the “Envelope Design with THERM” course on ladybug-tools-academy but stacked in the only beginning…
First of all, there are no sample files in the course. Please fix that.
Secondly, I’ve installed Rhino7, ladybug 1.4.0, and THERM, and they seem to work, but in course videos, there are much more Icons in Grasshopper than I have.
In the First lesson, he used “honeybee create therm polygon.”
Unfortunately, I don’t have any icons related to the THERM.

THERM simulation needs ladybug legacy version 0.069, not ladybug 1.4.0.
You can down ladybug legacy version 0.069 from food4rhino.

@minggangyin is right.

The THERM components are only for the Legacy plugin at the moment. We are just starting to make official video tutorials for the LBT plugin and it will be some time before we have any type of THERM functionality in the LBT plugin.

Also, here are the sample files for that video series with the Legacy THERM components:

Hi again, thank you Trevor, I finally got everything to work!
I have another question unfortunately, hopefully someone can help me out…
I am an architect with no environmental background (so be gentle).

Is there a way to know in THERM how much time it takes the heat to go inside the house?
Meaning, I am working with rammed earth blocks and I want to be able to control the heat transfer- release the heat after 12 hours, depending on the walls orientation (radiation value) and surface area.
I will attach what I have so far after going through all the subscribed tutorials.
Thank you

@ella THERM is not a dynamic solver, its primarily a steady-state 2d heat transfer analysis tool but it does not perform dynamic ( time-dependent) simulations like you described above.

Ho no… Thank you Trevor for letting me know! Do you have any recommendation of programs that can do that? Its really outside of my ballpark :frowning:
