UDI_lower returns 0% for sensors with 0 lux all year (expected 100%)

Hi everyone,

I’m using Honeybee LBT 1.10.0 and noticed something that I can’t explain in the Annual Daylight results.

Some rooms in my model (toilets and a dressing room) receive no daylight at all. Every sensor in those rooms has 0 lux for every sun-up hour.

Because of that, I expected the results to be:

  • UDI = 0%

  • UDI_lower = 100%

  • UDI_upper = 0%

Instead, Honeybee reports:

  • UDI = 0%

  • UDI_lower = 0%

  • UDI_upper = 0%

So the three values add up to 0% instead of 100%.

Is this expected behavior, or could it be a bug? Has anyone run into this before?

Thanks!

Hi @vall,

Thank you for reporting the issue. There was a bug in the UDI_lower calculation when the entire room received no illuminance at all. I pushed a fix, which you should be able to get by updating the core libraries with the LB Versioner component.
