I’ve been seeing significant slowdowns with the Write to PHPP component recently. Single house is around 6 minutes, multi-res with many surfaces is 25+ minutes.
I’m not sure what changed on my end to cause this. Has anything changed in recent versions around how data is written to Excel? Wondering if this is a known issue or points to a bug.
honeybee-ph version **1.33.19**, PHPP v10.4, Rhino 8, Windows 11
Hey @Luke I have not had trouble myself, but I’ve definitely heard from a colleague that they were experiencing something similar. We have chalked it up to a change in MacOS (happened after he updated) but perhaps it is something larger if you experience it on Windows?
Under the hood, the PHPP writer uses the XLWings library to do the actual Excel interaction. Perhaps something changed with that library that causes it? It definitely should only take a second or two though - must be something going on there. Give me a holler at ed@bldgtyp.com and maybe we can take a look together at your test case there?
