The new LB Samples component lives in the Ladybug.Grasshopper.gha file inside the ladybug_grasshopper_dotnet folder where your components are installed:
.gha files cannot be deleted or overwritten while Rhino is open. So there is no way to delete it when running the LB Versioner. So, if you want the new component, you have to delete that .gha filethe entire ladybug_grasshopper_dotnet folder manually while Rhino is closed. Then, open up Rhino and run the Versioner. The next time that you open Grasshopper, you will have the updated .gha and the LB Samples component.
Or you could just install everything with the Pollination single-click installer inf you are on Windows. The single-click installer takes care of all this for you.
Hi @chris,
I’m back to my Windows machine and I used the Pollination 1.65.5 installer - everything works as expected.
However, on the Mac side I still struggle to get it going. I have manually deleted the Ladybug.Grasshopper.gha and re-run the Versioner: there is no updated .gha in the folder - it remains missing.
It’s not a big deal (hopefully, as I’m unaware what other components might be missing) as the samples are also available on Food4Rhino - I just don’t get what goes wrong.
Sorry that my last post was a little bit wrong about what you need to delete. You actually need to delete the whole ladybug_grasshopper_dotnet folder (not just the Ladybug.Grashopper.gha file. Then run the LB Versioner. Then, restart Rhino.
After that you will have the LB Samples component working on Mac.
I should also note that each major version of Rhino on Mac has a different folder. So there is a separate one for Rhino 7 and Rhino 8. Are you sure that you deleted the correct ladybug_grasshopper_dotnet folder, closed Rhino, and then ran either the Food4Rhino installer or the LB Versioner component?
